A WORD FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Dear Boksburg High School Family

It is a great honour and privilege for me to have been appointed as the new Principal of Boksburg High School. Firstly, I would like to express my appreciation to the School Governing Body (SGB) and the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) for taking such a bold step in affording me such an opportunity of leading one of the top schools in the country in order to showcase my skills and expertise in Education. This is indeed historic and remarkable!

I am fully aware that Boksburg High School is a unique school with its own proud identity, culture, tradition, values and operational systems and I look forward to taking my new school to even greater heights. Working with staff of diverse backgrounds has never been an issue before in the 29 years I have spent in Education, having successfully championed this in four other schools. In fact I am excited to be leading such a dynamic team with vast knowledge and experience.

I would like to acknowledge the outstanding work performed by Mrs Haahjem and her team during the time the school was without a Principal. Thank you very much for your display of true leadership, resilience, dedication and commitment.

The Boksburg High Team has begun the planning and preparations to ensure that the school is ready for the 2021 academic year. New changes will only be made when necessary in taking the school forward and after a process of thorough consultation or engagement with relevant stakeholders including our learners.

I would like to wish a warm and hearty welcome to our newly-appointed Deputy Principals, Miss Greeff and Mr Beharrie, as well as our two Heads of Department, Mrs Le Grange (Practical Subjects Department) and Mrs Singh-Mohanlall (English Department). I look forward to working with you.

To our parents, the school is counting on your support. Thank you to all parents who remained committed to their course by ensuring that their children’s school fees are either paid-up or up-to-date despite the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 virus. A special appeal to those who still owe to please settle their accounts by the end of the month.

As your new Principal, I am excited to go on this journey knowing that together “We can because we believe we can”.

Mr F.E. Thango
Principal
